Description:
Having lived in Spain for a period of time, I am interested in tapping into two delicacies unique to the country of Spain, while taking advantage of the "melting pot" culture of the East Village of New York City, where there is nothing similar in style or flavor. In Spain, there is a very popular "tapas" small plate called Patatas Bravas, often paired with a refreshing beverage called Calimocho (an equal parts mixture of red table wine and cola) The bars specializing in this fare often have standing room only. The proposed bar's atmosphere and menu fare would appeal to many...the trendy weekend party-goers, the afternoon sports fans, the late-night hungry crowd, etc. The focus of the bar/restaurant would be these two items, with an additional menu of traditional tapas dishes, sangrias, and wine and beer.
